Circle Catcher

The IO head was a trade I did with someone a couple of months ago and I've been looking forward to taking some photos of it/her. I'm very much enjoying the big project I've been working on, but have been missing doing things with my own dolls, which I'm taking as a positive sign that I do want to keep them. I'd begun to consider a big change in direction, sans bjds, so it was good for me to take some time out for a while.

These images were only made possible because of the mixed media work behind them (created by an artist in the family that wasn't me), as well as the influence of being surrounded by 3 musicians playing and singing 'Windmills of Your Mind' in the room while I was taking the photos. The song reminded me of my mother singing it around the house when I was very young and I think a real mixture of feelings went into my images that day.

Tree Sitter

I thought about calling this series something dramatic like, 'Eco-Warrior' or 'Eco-Terrorist', but I prefer the title 'Tree Sitter' because it sounds so much more mundane, though the meaning isn't.

I found the term on Wikipedia: 'Tree sitting is a form of environmentalist civil disobedience in which a protester sits in a tree, usually on a small platform built for the purpose, to protect it from being cut down (speculating that loggers will not endanger human lives by cutting an occupied tree). Supporters usually provide the tree sitters with food and other necessary supplies.'

Here are some photos of the doll that is nameless, but who is definitely not intended to be a 'Snape' character (!), sometimes in trees and occasionally relaxing with daffodils. I really like this doll, a hell of a lot. Thanks once again to Tasha, of illness-illusion.com, who I think does the most fantastic repaints.
